Advertising with Current Publishing

When I founded our first magazine in 1967, I needed a 1,000 subscribers to stay afloat. I stuck to a formula that I believed would work - delivering a niche subject to a mass audience. it felt like a risk, but I need not have worried. Within in a month I had 2,000 subscribers and within a year, 5,000. The company has never looked back.

Current Publishing is an independently owned magazine publishing company based in London that specializes in the heritage sector. Our specialist titles are well-respected in their fields. Our team of dedicated writers live and breathe their subjects, and they turn potentially complicated subjects into illuminating features easily understandable by the general public. As such we are fortunate to have a highly loyal readership. This has allowed the company to flourish during testing times and in the last few years we have been able to increase not only our portfolio and the frequency of some of our titles, but our readership as well. We now deliver hundreds of thousands of copies per year to dedicated, intelligent readers from the Uk, the US and the rest of the world.

Whether it is traditional print media, online or face-to-face, we can offer our advertising partners a wealth of opportunities to engage with our readership. Our readers are intelligent and affluent, and are often at a stage in their lives where they are time-rich and can indulge their passions. We know our readers - literally in many cases as we have a surprising number of our original 2,000 subscribers who continue to be avid readers. So why not let us help you reach them? Our advertising team is highly-experienced and professional, and are keen to find the right solution geared to your needs.

I urge you to get in touch.

"Who is the Greatest Leader of All Time?" was an advertising campaign idea closely integrated into editorial content in print and online, built on an in-depth knowledge of our readers. The cross-platform advertising campaign created a debate that began in the pages of the magazine and then spread online through forums and radio interviews. The campaign was Highly Commended for the Media Pioneer Awards.

  • starsTurkish Tourism - Feel the Centuries

    Magazine: Current World Archaeology
Client: www.goturkey.co.uk (Turkish Culture and Tourism Office) and Peter Sommer Travels (specialists in cultural holidays in Turkey)

'Feel The Centuries' was an integrated print and online proposition developed in collaboration with the Deputy Director at the Turkish Culture and Tourism office and the Editorial and Advertising Teams at Current World Archaeology.

Istanbul was the European City of Culture in 2010 and as such the Tourism office was keen to exploit the opportunity for attracting more travellers to Turkey as a whole. The Tourism office wanted to showcase it's rich and ancient heritage with the aim of enticing educated and affluent tourists to the country and it sought to work with Current World Archaeology, knowing that the magazine would provide the ideal readership.

The promotion included two features on the region within the magazine (a Cover Feature with 20 pages of supporting editorial plus a 12-page Travel feature); a full-page advert on the Inside Front Cover ('Feel the Centuries') from the Turkish Tourism Office and Turkish Airlines as well as a three-month sponsorship of the Turkish section on the www.world-archaeology.com website.

Peter Sommer Travel saw the special issue as a perfect way to highlight their cultural holidays within Turkey and offered a competition for 2 free places on one of their cruises.

Both the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office and Peter Sommer Travels benefited from the exposure and felt the magazine was an ideal platform for their promotions.
