Current Archaeology

Current Archaeology is Britain’s leading archaeological magazine: it is published monthly, with a focus on digging up the past. All periods and ages are covered, from prehistory, through the Romans, down to the Middle Ages and coming down to the archaeology of more modern times. Here you will always find the latest discoveries in British archaeology. Current Archaeology was launched in 1967, since when it has covered over 1000 excavations as well as reviewing nearly 1500 books. It is distributed by subscription to just under 20,000 readers, and it is also available in larger WH Smith’s, and selected book shops, including Foyles.

Current World Archaeology

Current World Archaeology covers the world from the first emergence of man down to yesterday. There is inevitably a focus on Egypt, Mesopotamia and the Near East, and Greece and Rome, and the best of the rest of the world is also covered regularly. It was launched in 2003 as a sister magazine to the long established Current Archaeology. The launch was a huge success and it has achieved a circulation of 11000 subscribers within the first 6 months. It is published six times a year and has expanded to become one of the largest archaeology magazines in the world with additional sales of over 20,000 in the US alone.

Military History Monthly

Military History Monthly is the new monthly magazine that brings the battles to life with action-packed narrative and authoritative detail. We tell the real stories of the heroes, both celebrated and forgotten, and battles and feats of daring on land, at sea, and in the air. But Military History Monthly is not just about telling the stories; we lift the fog of war, and cut through the victors’ propaganda, to truly analyse what really happened, why decisions were made, and, importantly, who really won. We look at the new research, and the new theories, to bring unparalleled analysis and expert opinion of our military history, and show just how relevant it is to our military today.

It began life in 1967 when Andrew Selkirk published the first issue of Current Archaeology magazine, the country’s first (and only) magazine about archaeology aimed at the enthusiast rather than the professional. Since then it has grown to become one of the world’s most respected archaeology magazine with almost 20,000 subscribers. In 2003 a sister publication was launched, and is now firmly established.
